Print Boss with Remote Desktop

I use PB32 successfully on my WIn10 PC. I'm writing because I've referred PB to a friend. His setup is a little different than mine, and I'm trying to get him up and running. He's purchased a licensed copy of PB, HP-2035n, and a bunch of blank checks.
He currently has his QB program and data located on an outside server. And use Windows Remote Desktop to access QB and QB Data. He has access to local printers with Remote Desktop. I installed PB on his local computer and the PB50 Driver on NUL is loaded on his local windows. When we are local and utilizing the PB program, I can print successfully from there. eg. Editing and Printing Checks or Deposit Slips. But, when we are remoted in to QB on the server, and choose the "redirected" NUL PB50 printer, the Remote Desktop immediately crashes/closes when we attempt to print a check.
I initially thought we could setup PB on his local Win-10PC. It has not worked, so far... Was this correct?
Or, were we supposed to setup on the Remote Server PC? Also, what settings would we need to change to make this work?
