Client users access via terminal server. Currently the configuration is set for work and archive files as WinUserName and set for globally.

One user needs to be able to access one other users(supervisor) archive files while all other users should only have access to their own files.

Is "Allow browse" the only way to handle this or can each user have a separate configuration where a specific users archive folder is specified on those 2 users?

correct positive pay files for two page checks

Hello,

Client changed to a new bank. New positive pay file was tested and accepted by the bank – please see below. This bank requires no return between records.

I have a problem with positive pay file when checks are printed with more than one page (due to the number of items paid on the check). These checks are listed in the file for each page. When the bank matches up the check to the file, it is flagged as an exception because the dollar amount on the check is matched against the first page of the check which does not have the total of the check.

Please advice.

Hi,

We have a client that is currently running PrintBoss with Business Vision to print invoices. While we had to make some tweaks to the crystal reports, we were able to get this running great. All users were on Windows XP, and they are forced to use the NT40 driver due to some incompatibility with BV and the PrintBoss 50 driver.

Recently, 1 user had to have his PC replaced, and it is now running Windows 7. He is forced to used to 50 driver, which is fine – everything prints properly. They also send invoices out via email, and this single Windows 7 PC seems to translate the graphics in the form as black. Everything prints ok, and it only seems to be the emailing that is an issue. I have also tested sending the same form view email through the designer, and again, it simply shows the image as all black. I have attached a copy of the invoice for you to review as well.

If you could take a look and offer any suggestions, then that would be great.

My client recently upgraded to PrintBoss 5.70.7 and from Windows XP Professional to Windows 7 desktop.

After the upgrade, their French character is not printing properly.

For example, the French Character É in the payee name DÉBUT ART LTD (CAN) is printing as a comma (D,BUT ART LTD (CAN)) see attached cheque printout from PrintBoss. It used to print properly in the previous version on a Windows XP workstation.

It looks like a Windows 7 issue because I tested it from their Terminal Server and the French character printed correctly.

Any idea how we can fix this problem on a windows 7 PC?

Hi Paula,

This setting is already set to colour and 216-DPI - all other users who are on Windows XP and using the 40 driver are working fine. It's very strange that this one PC that is on Windows 7 is having this issue. Attached is the image in JPG format that they are using. I also attempted to re-save the image as a BMP and try it, but that didn't work either.

If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

The Crystal Report field for the Payee Name does not have a check in the box CAN GROW.

The field for the payee name is using this formula:

Hi,

I’m trying to configure PrintBoss e-mailing using a Gmail account. When I do, I get this message, “Must issue a STARTTLS command first. ft12sm9278815ibb.19”. Do you have any idea what it’s looking for or what I need to do? Thanks.

I think the setting we need is the SSL option. We do this in the e-mail notification portion of our Backup software, and we use Gmail, see below, there is a valid account name for Gmail, and SSL enabled. Will PrintBoss be compliant to SSL? Thanks.

Hi there, I have a client that emails invoices. However, what they would like is the following:

Original – email if there is email address
Copy 1 – POPUP EMAIL FIELD to manually enter email address if NO email address

Is this possible? I know how to make it print if there is no email address but not how to get the “email popup” screen to come up.

Good Morning
Bad news! Same problem again - below are the comments from the customer. This only happens with one user on one workstation.

July 25 - Carmen printed the "checks" (remittances), after the 6th check, she got the symbols again. IT - reloaded the drivers again

July 26 - 10 test checks printed fine today as they did last week after Kenny reinstalled the print driver. Yesterday as she was printing her direct deposit checks, the first 5 printed fine, but the 6th and subsequent checks did not print correctly, just symbols. When she tried to reprint, the symbols start printing with the 3rd check. Which was the original problem. Since she typically only prints one or two checks per account, we did not realize this was an ongoing problem until recently.
it seems to be a problem starting with the 5th check in her batch. If she only prints one or two checks, it seems to be fine.

Any suggestions?

Recording and Tracking Signature Disk Usage

My client wants to purchase 2 signature keys. Both would have the same signature. Two individuals in the company would each have one so that if one is out checks can still be printed. The catch is that they want to record/track which signature key was used when. Is this possible? I have suggested have one key and both users have a access/key to where ever it is stored and use that in combination with batch approval and tracking. Do you have any other suggestions? What else do you see out in the field?

PB launches only from Accpac Preview

We have a client, who has a new Windows XP workstation from which they need to print Accpac OE Order Confirmations. We are having that situation where, if they do print preview, then print, PrintBoss works fine. If they go directly to the printer, PrintBoss does not launch and the order prints with no formatting.
I've already done another workstation install.
I've already done renaming the XXX_P.ism file and reset the printer to PrintBoss 50.
I can print a sample form from PrintBoss directly to the printer with no problem.
What do you recommend we do to get the form to recognize PrintBoss directly?

checks print is too light

Subject: Check print is to light
Purchased a new HP1606dn printer. Since then my checks print so light the bank is having a hard time reading them. I just ran a report using my regular cartridge using PrintBoss and the print is dark enough. Then I put my MICR cartridge in and printed using PrintBoss and the print is very light. Is there some kind of adjustment that needs to be made because of my new printer?
