Paula,
I put a check signature file in Printboss for one of our clients. When we preview it in Printboss everything looks okay. When we test print it from Printboss part of the signature line is missing. When you go back into Printboss and click on the signature in preview a blue box is around the file. This blue box is what is making part of the signature line disappear. Is there any way to correct this in the old Printboss version they are running 5.63.6? I did it on the demo copy I have 5.73 and I don't have the problem. I know I can upgrade them but that is another issue because their server is remote and I need to get others involved. They are also using an older version of Accpac.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Subject:Questions about Editing a Hand Check Form
Hi there.
I have a question with regards to how to edit the Hand Check form to do something in Printboss. A Canadian based client would like to be able to print hand checks from their US dollar account. The bank is a Canadian bank so we still require it to be configured for the option “Canadian style date/amount”. I have made a copy of the HandChk3 form and tried to edit it.
What we want to do is this:
In the “Amount Box” we need it to say US $
In the amounts in words, the HChkAmnt field, we need it to end with US Amount.
In the Footer Objects of the forum I have tried the following to accomplish these changes:
- edit the Amount Box and inserted US in front of the $ but it will not print it. When we create a hand check it still only prints the $ without the US before it.
- I cannot find anywhere in the form where I am able to edit and insert the US in front of Amount
Would you please let me know how I can make these changes to the form so that the hand check will be printed with the correct information.

We are using PrintBoss to manage our printing, fax, and emails from our Sage X3 ERP software.
We’ve recently noticed a problem when generating an email from PrintBoss.

The EmailTo address is getting pulled in from X3 but whenever there is an underscore somewhere in the address, the underscore gets dropped.
So “sally_email@something.com” becomes “sallyemail@something.com” instead. I’m not sure how long this has been an issue, it was just brought to my attention recently.

We are on the 5.7.2 version right now. I will be running an update this evening to bring us current to the 5.7.3

If this is a known issue that will not be solved with an update, I would very much like some help to fix this.

Some possibly pertinent information:
We’ve recently updated our X3 clients from the 104 client to the 109 client which uses a different version of Crystal reports than we were previously using.
We’ve also recently updated our workstations from Windows XP to Windows 7.

I was able to resolve the issue by:
1. Turning off the “Can Grow” option in all fields
2. Activating the option “Text and Graphics are captured” and changing to “Graphic Text” instead of “Captured Text”. This works under Windows 7 English with any of English (Canada), English (US) or French (Canada) Regional Settings.

Good afternoon,
We just upgraded a customer to GP 2013 and we have a question regarding how PB works with the new ‘select printer at runtime’ feature. The process works fine, the user just had to select the PrintBoss 5.0 printer at the time she printed checks. Is this how the process will work now, or is there a setting to tweak to bypass the printer selection for just the AP check printing option in GP?

Hi there, I am using PrintBoss to print many, many forms for a company based in Quebec. They use French characters such as é However when printing through PrintBoss, these are LOST

I figured out how to fix this using UNICODE MS and BOLDING it which worked for most of the forms EXCEPT the AP Cheques! Nothing I do will print the correct language on the cheques.

How can I fix this?

I work for a CPA firm that is interested in your product. One of the ways our CPAs have access to QuickBooks is through Citrix and I was wondering if PrintBoss is supported in a Citrix environment. Would we have to get the Enterprise edition or does the Select version work with Citrix also?

Hello .. I’ve configured a PO form to send an email, setting the “From Information” section (among other variables) in the form. But, when I send the email with this information completed, the email doesn’t send. If I remove the information, the email sends through SMTP just fine.

I’ve attached the form file, work files, a sample email, and the screen shot below from the email process . Can you please help me identify the error in my variables that are causing the email to not be sent when I populate the “FROM” section? Let me know if you need any other information. Thanks!

{ACHEfctvDate} is an optional field which allows a date to be assigned in the form. Otherwise, the date the file is created is used. The description says to add ‘!’ to the end of the variable and a calendar will pop up to select a date on the fly when saving the ACH file
Does the '!' go inside or outside the {} to prompt to change the ACH date?

Good morning, I am a very satisfied customer and have been for many years.
We recently started processing our company payroll as direct-deposit only. I, therefore, no longer need to print the whole check run on check stock. In fact, I don’t even need to print the whole payroll, I only need to print the facsimilies for the hourly employees. My question is: Can I direct the output from printboss to a pdf printer? (by selecting a pdf printer instead of a laser printer in print boss)
We still use print boss for our other payroll checks as well as all of our accounts payable checks.

Good afternoon support-
We are looking for any info/support you might be able to give us when we are using GP 2013 and PrintBoss.

Here is the issue: We are a fulfillment warehouse and we utilize your product to add custom logo’s to our packing slips depending on who the customer is. We have been using your product a couple years and it has been great. However we always have had issues (we thought personnel) when we had missing packing slips which resulted in items not shipping. However after much time and evaluation I have been able to see that the issue is actually in PrintBoss itself. When we run packing slips, the batches are very larger (anywhere from 100-400 documents at once). What we are noticing is that almost daily PrintBoss does not print about 10-15 packing slips. When I pull back up the batch in PrintBoss I can see that they documents are missing (usually in the middle of the run)- I then check GP and the system thinks they have already been printed.

So it appears that some documents are not being spooled- do you have suggestions on what we can do to fix and/or have you ever seen this issue in the past? With it being 4th quarter we are very busy and these missing slips are turning into a customer service nightmare.

Any help would be appreciated- thanks!

Hello,
I have a client where one of the users has a laptop with the software installed. When he is in the office and connected to the network, PrintBoss works fine. However when he goes away and connects to their VPN to complete work, PrintBoss no longer functions. Is there any special setup that is needed to get PrintBoss to work over a VPN? Are there any settings their technicians need to check to open access to it? Thanks!

The IT people are asking if Print Boss generates any log files that we can use to troubleshoot the problem one user is reporting about being unable to email (with attachments) to ACH recipients via Print Boss. (We can successfully do this from the application server.)

Please pass this on to all at Wellsprings.

Earlier today you were working with Patricia to troubleshoot a problem with getting PrintBoss to work on a client’s workstation running Kaspersky AV.

I thought you might like to know that we were able to figure out the correct settings in Kaspersky so that PrintBoss would work. The attached images are screen shots of the setup:

Open Kaspersky
Click on Settings



Click on Threats and Exclusions
Click on the Exclusion rules tab. Exclude the PrintBoss install folder. Select all exclusion options for this folder.

Click on the Trusted Application tab. Add PB32.exe. Select all options for this executable.
