Bank Code - Bank Account Name Cut Short

The length of the bank account name is determined by QuickBooks. If you review the raw data sent, you will see that QuickBooks does not always send the full bank ID. It is usually truncated to around 20 characters. The 20 characters is all that PrintBoss gets, so the bank code matches on only those 20 characters and the company name. Hopefully this helps. Run the PB32 program. Go to Options, Configuration, then the Internal tab. Un-check the box for 'Save Printer Settings."
Then go to File, Printer Setup. Choose a different printer from the one you use. Close the window.
Now, reopen the Printer Setup window and choose the correct printer.
From File, Open Document Work File, you can choose a document to test.
This normally takes care of clearing out the printer settings for duplexing.
If you have a specific tray set for your check printer, this will need to be setup again under the Multi-parts and Printers tab of the check Form.

Likely, though I don't know for sure, it is because it was the last printer used by the Crystal report.

Windows 10 - use Office 365

Just a reminder that with Windows 10, Office 365 is to be used for emailing. Outlook is not supported for Windows 10 and therefore not supported by PrintBoss emailing function either.

For now, as long as Microsoft supports Outlook for Windows 8.1, we will too. But that will change when Windows 8.1 is sunset.

Recent updates
  • If an EmailBody file was not accessible PrintBoss would not process. A new message now launches when the exception occurs in the EmailBody but it does not stop the batch from processing.
  • The addition of Work Flow required changes to the structure of both the Work and Archive Files. Until this release PrintBoss would create a new Archive file and did not include previous files. Both the Work and Archive browser now have an option in the "gear icon" dropdown menu that allows for a manual restructure of the users' Work and Archive files. Also, when new Archive files are processed it now looks at an existing Archive file and if the structure is not up to date will restructure itself to have the newer field.
  • The ability to add URL links to text fields in a PDF was added. Please note it has not been added to the Email PDFs.

A processing error was identified in PrintBoss when emailing file attachments. If you are emailing attachments to documents printed by PrintBoss and you are using the /OA (Omit Attachments) condition, files on your drive may be deleted. If you are using this condition, you must use PrintBoss release 6.1.1.3 dated 10/06/20.

How to clear PrintBoss from a PC

The PC clients only have three things:

1.The PrintBoss driver
a.Delete PrintBoss50 from the Windows printer list
b.Delete the PrintBoss spooler from C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers. Delete references to PB50 driver in the folders and sub-folders.
c.Remove the PrintBoss section under C:\Windows\Win.ini
d.Remove C:\windows\PB32.ini

2.Transfer and Spool folder
a. Delete C:\programdata\wellspring

3.Registry settings
a.Delete Hkey\Local Machine\Software\WOW64\Wellspring
b.Delete Hkey\Current User\Software\Wellspring

Right Networks has notified Wellspring Software that they will soon perform a PrintBoss update. If you do not have a a current PrintBoss Support Contract before this update, your license will revert to a trial copy and you will not be able to print documents through PrintBoss.

To purchase a PrintBoss Service Contract, please:

1. Go to www.printboss.com/products/service-contracts
2. Input your serial number
3. Click 'Lookup Serial Number' and follow instructions to complete the order

Once purchased, you will receive an email confirmation of your order, along with an Update Code and instructions to update. Please use Option #3 in those instructions. For uninterrupted service, we recommend updating your PrintBoss as soon as possible.

How do I add a disclaimer text to every check

To add text to the face of your check do the following:
1 run PB32.exe to open the PrintBoss Master Application
2 go to File, Open Document Work File
3 Choose your PrintBoss check form, click on it, then click on Browse, then View
4 Click your cursor where you want the text to begin, then RIGHT click and choose the option to Insert an Object. Choose Text.
5 Type your text in the box provided and verify the other properties of the text you might want such as Bold or 8 point font etc.
6 Click ok
You can move or modify the text by double-clicking on it.

There have been several instances where a check will not pass through the C:\programdata\Wellspring\PrintBoss\Transfer folder and the PrintBoss program does not launch and process the checks. No error messages pop up. In these 4 cases, the settings on BitDefender through a local interface were changed. On the BitDefender Total Security program, we went to the Protection panel, selected Open under the Advanced Threat Defense, and switched to the Settings tab, and turned off Advanced Threat Defense, and that seemed to fix it.
