MICR Line - Bank rejects

sellis
We have had one Print Boss Form approved by the bank. I created additional forms that use a different bank account by copying from the original form and only changing the necessary data, including the account number. We have submitted several tests to the bank and they have been rejected each time on all 3 of the new forms. The first few times were because of low signal level on the MICR line. The same torner cartridge was used for the previously approved form. We are using the same printer, same computer, same check stock, same print settings. The only difference is the account number. We have bolded the MICR line which increased the signal level, but now they are unable to read some of the characters. We just recently resubmitted the original form to see if it would still pass, which it did. Are there any other settings within Print Boss that would affect how the MICR line prints from one form to another?

MICR Line - Bank rejects

Normally the same PrintBoss form would be used for multiple banks, so I'm not understanding the need for multiple forms. That said, it seems like you have reviewed the three areas that can effect the printing of the MICR line: the toner, the printer settings and the 'boldness' setting of the MICR line in PrintBoss. I would suggest testing the original form with all three new bank accounts. You can do this by running PrintBoss and going to Edit, then Form Files. Click on the form, then use the drop down at the bottom of the list to choose the bank. Now click on View or Print to see the MICR line. You can print copies of the check from here.

Thank you, we will try that. The need for multiple forms is because different information is needed on each form, i.e. type of account. It is necessary for our set up. Thanks for your assistance.

Error creating/appending to form log file.Error=32

sellis
We have been using PrintBoss for over a year. Just recently, we've been receiving the error "Error creating/appending to form log file. File=\\....CFOperat.Log Error=32" We haven't made any changes to the workstations and the users are the same. Until today, it was only occuring on one PC. Now, they are receiving the same error on the other workstation. Once they click off of it, everything processes just fine. It does not prevent them from completing the print process. Seems to be happening with the bigger print jobs. (The one today, though, was only 97 checks).

Update - The error seems to be occurring more frequently within the same print job. Larger jobs will require the user to acknowledge the error over 30 times in one batch of checks.

This solution worked temporarily. Eliminated the error message on the first couple of check runs. Now it is starting to come back. User received same error message 3 times when printing a check run containing 113 checks today.

I changed the folder name. Yes, we did upgrade virus software, but we turned off scanning of print boss files. I will turn off logging and see if that eliminates the problem.

Reports

Is there a way to configure a PrintBoss form to print like a report? We need to run a report that can be easily dumped into excel and totaled based on a text input file where the records have variables assigned in the file. The problem I am having is getting multiple records on one page.

Proper Syntax #if #else

sellis
What is the proper syntax for using the #if and #else statements. I am trying to suppress empty address lines and checking if address line 2 is empty, but getting syntax errors. Documentation is vague. I've tried several different ways, but this is what the latest looks like

#If[!Empty, ÷{Vendoraddress2}÷]Text 0.69 9, 9.89, "Courier New/10",÷ {Vendoraddress2}÷
#Else Text 0.69, 9.89, "Courier New/10", ÷{VendorCity}÷
#Text 1.994, 9.89, "Courier New/10", ÷{VendorState}÷
#Text 2.337, 9.89.164, "Courier New/10", ÷{VendorZip}÷
#Endif
#IF[!Empty,÷{Vendoraddress2}]÷
#Text 0.69, 10, "Courier New/10", ÷{VendorCity}÷
#Text 1.994, 10, "Courier New/10", ÷{VendorState}÷
#Text 2.337, 10.164, "Courier New/10", ÷{VendorZip}÷
#Endif

Or, if you have a better way of suppressing an address line. I cannot use the #Assign LastLine because this is from a text file import using the PB#Assign with each assignment on a different line. Not our normal way of capturing the data, but this is coming from an source outside of our financial system.
thanks!
