Your email leads to several questions. Foremost, what is the Save Setting for the SMTP / Mail Hosts tab? I assume it is Common/WinUserName from the post below, but it would be helpful to know this setting. As you may recall, this setting is specific to each tab in the E-mail Settings dialog.

The EMailFrom address is the address of the person sending the email and must be a valid email address in the domain used for the SMTP. Otherwise, the SMTP will reject the credentials. This is an SMTP function, not a PrintBoss function. PrintBoss is merely the tool used to pass the information.

The current Enterprise edition of PrintBoss, version 6.01.1, has the ability assign variables for the SMTP fields in the PrintBoss Form as follows:

  • SMTPHost – Assign URL
  • SMTPUserID – Assign User ID
  • SMTPUserPassword – Assign Password
  • SMTPPort – Assign Port number
  • SMTPAuth – Assign Authentication Method. The values are as follows:
    • 0 for Simple,
    • 1 for Default (this activates the User ID and Password fields)
    • 2 for POP3 Login
  • SMTPSSL – Assign SSL Type. The values are as follows:
    • 0 for None
    • 1 for SSL 2
    • 2 for SSL 2.3
    • 3 for SSL 3
    • 4 for TLS 1
    • 5 for TLS 1.1
    • 6 for TLS 1.2

These value can be set conditionally in the PrintBoss Form.

We have a company who is currently using PrintBoss to e-mail paystub. They currently have two payroll companies in Sage and would like to know if they could use two different SMTP information as the current setup cannot be used to send out payroll information for the second company in Sage.

Both companies in Sage are using a different PB Form which I thought I could easily go in the PB form setup for both and specify {EmailFromAddress} so that it would not show the original smtp setup. It's fine for the first company as the EmailFromAddress is the same as the one under the SMTP setup section. As for the second company, I've added the {EmailFromAddress} to use joeyl@dbgroupinc.ca but gave an authentication error when trying to test an email to be sent.

Both companies are on two different SMTP. Current setup is Office365 and the second company, the smtp information is Gmail.

My question to you is can we setup in the PB form to use a different SMTP information than from the one in the current setup?

Is there any other way to mask the emailfromaddress without affecting the smtp information?

If you need any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
