We generally recommend the PCL5e or PCL6 driver when there is a choice, so either should work with PrintBoss.

When I installed Pboss 5.7 on the server, there was an error to accept the current printer with PCL5 so I installed the PCL6 driver. Now on users PC, some have printers with PCL6 and some with PCL5. Are both compatible with 5.70 or should they all be PCL6 ?

The drivers referenced give instructions to the printer. The only adjustment PrintBoss can make is to regulate the flow of data from PrintBoss to the printer. These settings are often used when the printer memory cannot handle the entire print job at once. PrintBoss can modulate the flow of the data to the printer so that when the documents print and are released from the printer que, PrintBoss will send more.

For more information about these settings, please see Page 19 of the PrintBoss Users' Manual:

PCL 6 seems slower than PCL 5 on same printer. Do we need to adjust any options ??
