Unknown format for PDF attachment

A .dat temporary file is created during the email attachment process. When this process is not completed, the .dat may get attached to the email in place of the pdf file. Change the extension to PDF and it will open normally. I haven't seen this issue in 3 years. What version of Outlook are you using?

Hello, When printing to PrintBoss and emailing information sometimes the attachment comes through as PDF and other times as unknown format. This is very upsetting to our customers and suppliers. Not sure if there is a fix for this. Thank you,
