The OP might be interested in knowing that there is shareware called "Stunnel" that will act as an ssl wrapper for non-ssl compliant programs. See this thread for more info: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Apps/thread?tid=1780781e814d05e6&hl=en

PrintBoss is not SSL compliant for email. It is designed to use an SMPT server that is SSL compliant.

I think the setting we need is the SSL option. We do this in the e-mail notification portion of our Backup software, and we use Gmail, see below, there is a valid account name for Gmail, and SSL enabled. Will PrintBoss be compliant to SSL? Thanks.

Gmail will not relay an SMTP account as it is viewed as SPAM. This is true of Yahoo, AOL, and other Internet e-mail services. You will need to use the IP address from the Service provider in order to send e-mail.

Hi, I’m trying to configure PrintBoss e-mailing using a Gmail account. When I do, I get this message, “Must issue a STARTTLS command first. ft12sm9278815ibb.19”. Do you have any idea what it’s looking for or what I need to do? Thanks. edited by Nancy on 10/2/2014
